 I recently purchased a new DSC 5010 board to replace the one that my old, exhorbitant, security company had installed (of course, they would not give me the installer code when I canceled them, even though the system belongs to me).

All went well after moving all the wires from old board to new one, and it seemed to power up ok. However, during programming, I accidently (and through ignorance) entered an assignment for a keypad to Partition 2 before that partition existed. Now the only thing the LCD keypad will do is display "Partition 2 is unavailable" whenever any key is pressed. It will not allow me to enter Installer Programming or any other mode. I have tried doing a system reset by disconnecting power and going through the routine to short PGM1 and Z1 to no avail. My other 2 keypads are the LED type, and they are both displaying the "Trouble" light, but also will not allow me to perform any functions.

Can anyone out there help me? Thanks in advance.

Try removing the mis assigned keypad from the system. Power down, remove the keypad, then power back up, This should allow you to re enter program mode, re run the supervision routine and start over installing that keypad.

Is it possible that you assigned two or more keypads to the same slot, as well as the wrong partition. You may have to go as far as removing all but one keypad.
