I presently have a 30" vanity base with the drain pipe coming in from the side and the supply valves protruding well into the cabinet. I had planned on replacing this cabinet with a 48" vanity with drawers on either side, but with the drain pipe where it is, I'm not sure what I can do about it. The only thing I could think of would be to notch out the side and back walls to run a new pipe or maybe pick up the drain pipe in the side wall lower to the floor so I can run it under that cabinet. Any recommendations on what to do in this situation ?

Rather than notch out the wall studs, I would just cut the drain pipe lower in the side wall, "T" over under the new vanity base, and bring it up in the center.
Good Luck!
