I am having a real problem removing the tank to replace the flush valve. I just can not get the bolts off of there. They don't seem to be rusted or corroded So I need help.Any advice would be appreciated.

You should not need to remove the toilet tank to replace the flush valve. The link below shows the various types of flush valves and their replacement.

You might also check out a "Fluidmaster" flush valve as a replacement. They are inexpensive and the best out there.

Get a Fluidmaster 400A float cup type valve (about $8 bucks).
Just follow the directions that come with it.
You don't need to remove anything but the old valve.
Good Luck!

The Fluidmaster 400A is a "Fill Valve". I would agree that it would be best to replace that as well, as the "Flush Valve" (Flapper). Use Fluidmaster parts for both.
