I need to buy around 600 square feet of laminate flooring for use in my living room. I really don't need to feel and touch it before I buy it. I know the internet is great for saving people money, so what online stores are the best places to buy this stuff at? I'm looking to spend $2.5o t $4/sq.ft. I'd rather spend more and get a long life product like Armstrong Laminates for Life or Wilsonart Estate.
Or perhaps I'm totally wrong assuming I can save $$$. Should I just visit my local home depot or lowest and lay down my plastic card?
Sincerely,
Rolland Elliott

anyone use www.ifloor.com?
I was looking at their web site.
The number of choices for laminate flooring is making my head spin. I'm sure their is a quality difference between the 99cents/sq.ft. compared to the
$2/sq.ft. stuff, but how about the difference between a $2 and a $3 or $4/sq.ft system?
I'm leaning towards something that is at least 8mm thick, has a light wood, snap together system that does not require glue. 2 in 1 underlayment that I would prefer was seperate.
Anyone know the best place to buy something like that?
Thanks, Rolland

I use iFloor quite often.
As an installer, I have no store front with samples. I don't get a price break from the area retailers either! Actually they will charge me more then if my client were to buy it cash & carry. They think I'm the competition, even if I buy it from them. They make a lot of money off the installation!!!!! More then on the actual sale of the carpet.
For hardgoods like hardwood and laminates, iFloor.com can't be beat for customer service on the internet. Some may beat their prices, but service lacks.

Who are these idiots ?!?!?!?!
The salespeople in your area need to get educated.
I have my share of contractors and I give them the biggest price break I can, and it should be extremely competitive with ANY online company, although I can still get slightly beat by the online guys. I still earn a TON of business and it has not hurt my retail remodel at all. What I lack in profit margin I make up for in volume. And I wouldn't have got the business anyway, you are not my competition at all.
Full service stores do make some on the labor, and it should not be more than the material, but if they are true full service stores, they better make money on the labor.

I like ifloor.com
However my concern is that I will forget to order something small like some trim work, or perhaps I might need something unforseen. This is a first time project for me. Is the shipping going to kill me on these little after the fact orders. Would I just be better off buying locally? Perhaps I am worrying too much.
