Hello all,
I am new here, but not new to the whole DIY gig. I know exactly what's wrong with my set. But I just need to know how I can go about repairing it?
Just like the title says,.
It is a 1995 Mits CS-35301 and it is suffering from no vertical sweep.
So here are my questions.
1.) What do I need to repair it? Or, where can I go to learn what I need? I have the tools, I just need the materials.
2.) While the TV is opened is there anything I should replace with new parts just to make sure nothing else goes wrong?
Thanks guys!
:)

You may want to get an LA7838 IC. that is the vertical output that's most likely bad. You'll need a good quality soldering Iron about 40watt. Solder wick to remove the solder from the pads, Heat sink compound, and good solder. Preferably from a radio tv repair shop. The Iron should have a small pointed tip and if your eyesight is good you should have no problems replacing the Ic. Also there may be an open 1.1 ohm resistor by the flyback that opens if the Ic shorts. I can't remember the # right now but hope this is enough to get you started. I've worked on many mits tv's and this is a common problem after the years you have on the set.

Thank you ProjoMan!
That was some quality information you just gave me! I will get to work right away and let you know how it goes.
P.S. Since your the projoman I thought I would tell you about my projector setup. I have a Sharp XV-Z12000U DLP Projo. 110" of Widescreen goodness. Have it hooked up to my HTPC to do all the scaling on my computer through FFDshow.
Speakers by Axiom, SVS 16-46 PC+ Sub, Rx-V2400 Yamaha Receiver. 9 theater chairs in stadium seating.
Take a look at it here (http://familytheater.tripod.com)
Thanks for all the info!

Hey supraman, Nice system I don't have quite the system but my old 53" sony with a Yamaha reciever for surround does quite well. I should also mention changing the electrolytic caps in the vertical circut just to be on the safe side.
