I have a GE self-cleaning gas range. After using the self-cleaning cycle and letting the oven cool down over night I opened the door. The "Locked Door" message went from solid red (when the door was actually locked) to flashing on and off (when the door is open or unlocked).
Now, I can re-start the self-clean cycle, but I cannot bake or broil. If I press the bake or broil buttons the display reads "door" and will not let me proceed.
I've tried hitting the clear/off button, and have unplugged the range for several hours. I'd be grateful for any guidance.

Hello dbsil and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliances topic.
Two possibilities come to mind. The doors lock switch is stuck closed even thought the door is unlocked or the circuit board is defective.
Try this. Unplug the oven. Lock the door and besure the lever handle is not even slightly bent. May not be fully releasing the internal locking switch or the contact points of the micro switch are stuck closed.
If the lock does not release when the lever is straight, the internal micro switch may be stuck. Which means you will have to remove the front glass panel, unstick the tiny contacts and replace the front glass panel.
If the switch is stuck, when you gain access, chances are the switch is defective, lock is defective or the handle is bent, so it does not fully release the locking mechanism. Which means you're likely to have to remove the switch and or locking device, cover the electrical wires and not use that mode or replace the defective componets.
Retail parts dealers and appliances parts stores can also help determine what the possible problem may be based upon that specific brand and model. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Dealers and appliances parts stores are listed in the phone book.
