i just bought a condo. it has a tandem style 2 car garage. the problem is.. there is only one light by the door, and it get pretty dark in there. so i'm thinking about installing some floresant (sp?) lights in there. questions is.. can i just tap it into the existing light source i have now? or how should i go about in doing it?

Yes, just run a black/white/bare cable from the existing light to where you want the new lights. There are a number of different ways the existing light might be wired, but you don't need to figure that out. Simply connect the black and white of your new cable to the same wires that the black and white of the existing light are connected to. Some fluorescents fixtures plug in with a cord, and some are hard wired, so figure out which you will be using before starting.

cool! that sounds pretty easy. i think i'm going to have to go with the ones with wires i guess. or i can always run some extension cords. the power switch is currently inside the house, but i want to create on in the garage as well. can i just tap it from the inside to the outside?

after thinking and planning.. i'm thinking the best way and the easiest way would be to get the f. lights that plugs into an outlet. right now in the garage, i have two outlets. would it be safe to run both f. lights into one of the outlets?
