When I put in my code and press "AWAY" the keypad says away exit now but after it completes the count down the siren sounds off for a quick second and goes into stay mode instead..All the sensors are working and wired properly, when I go to arm the system it says "Ready to Arm"...
Please help

Vista 20p
hardwired
1 motion sensor
6160V keypad
zone doubled

Depending on programming, if you don't open and close an entry/exit door during the count down, interior zones will automatically bypass (thus stay arming). I'm pretty sure it's the default setting.

I tried arming the system in "AWAY" mode again and made sure I open and closed the door and it still went into armed count down then after count down the siren sounded for a short second and it went into stay mode.

The siren sounds because you have "confirmation of arming ding" (field *38) turned on.
Are you _certain_ that the door you are exiting through is zone defined as an entry/exit (type 01 or 02).

The Auto-stay feature is turned on and off in field *84.
