So will the black stamps from the mill on my treated deck lumber eventually disappear on their own? Or, what is a good way to get rid of them? powerwash? garden hose? soap and scrub brush? wait for a few heavy rains? learn to ignore them?

We had contemplated a light sanding of the deck surface anyway, to minimize splinters and whatnot. Are there any problems with sanding? I assume it wouldn't compromise the preservative, since it's allegedly soaked through the boards, or at least in deeper than what I would be sanding...Any thoughts on that? Thanks, btw, for the sanding suggestions.

Pressure-trearted wood is just that. Pressure-treated.
They create a vaccum in a large p-t tube, and then flood it with preservative, and then pressurize it to soak all of the white wood cells throughout the wood with the chemical. (The red wood doesn't take treatment, but is insect and rot resistant on its own).
Sanding it won't affect the treatment, but don't inhale the dust. Wear a dust mask when sanding.
