I have a Hampton Bay fan (installed before I bought house) and the remote died. I have a vaulted celing and the fan hangs down a long pole. I bought a "compatible" new remote and the receiver doesn't fit in the canopy housing - and I don't see the old receiver there either - so I assume it is in the actual blade housing. I was looking to find the schematics on the blade assembly so I know which screws to start at first? Any ideas?? Thanks! :)

I don't know the answer to your question, but a brand new Hampton Bay fan with a built-in remote probably doesn't cost much more than the add-on remote that you bought. Just a thought.
