Hello All,

I would very much apreciate your advice on the task I am about to undertake.

I would like to panel my bath, using 'Tongue N Groove' I have thought of the water on wood problem and bought some PVA Glue. I also bought some specific bathroom white paint to paint it with afterwards.

I have noticed the problem of the slope, so each panel will have to be sanded to size, but my main concern is securing my frame in which i am going to fix my TnG panels to. I can obviously screw one end to the corner down bepic, but the part the goes to the wall, is a different matter. I really don't want to trust 'No More Nails' and putting a screw in diagonally would be awkward to say the least.

How should i go about constructing and fitting my frame?

Thank you all in advance for your time

Matt Page.

Matt,

The T & G is really not advisable. I strongly urge against it even if you are using adhesive and good paint. My concern is expansion of the wood. The slightest weak link in this venture will cause expanding and even the best adhesive will not hold when this expands.

You already know the problem and I can't provide a good answer as you are right about the reasons. I would re-think this venture through and reconsider another choice of materials. I admit that what you describe is not totally clear but the material you are using are very clear and very bad.

Is there a reason that you desire T & G versus a different product?

Hope this helps!
