Hi, Everyone,
My grandparents live in Minneapolis and had a big 32" Toshiba tv in their garage. My grandpa said that it was in perfect working order (it even looked brand new), and gave it to me as a housewarming gift. Well, I got it home, plugged it in, and... There is a big black line across the very bottom of the screen. It's about 4" thick. Is this repairable? I'd hate to throw this thing away, it's pretty nice. Not to mention it scratched the inside of my car during transport, so I feel kind of committed to making it work. I'm wondering if being in their garage during winter possibly messed up some of the soldering?
Any suggestions?

I'm not an expert here. I would suggest going through your on-screen menus and make sure that "closed captioning" is set to something other than "always on". (It may be buried in the menu system.) If this is not it, then I'm out of bright ideas.
