Hi all,

I recently made a 7 inch long scretch on my foyer floor, but not sure what to do... I have no idea what type of it is or the finish. Luckly, that scretch is not deep. I think all I need to do is light sanding and finish coat of polyurethane... but, what kind of sand paper (100, 150, 220 grit???) should I use, how many coat of polyurethane, one coat or two or more coat, waterbase or oilbase, OR a spray can of racquer (did I spelled right?) can be used?????
Here is the picture 1 (https://home.comcast.net/~sanghun/pic/floor1.JPG)

And I found one more damage which is about 1 inch long but deeper... what is the best solution for this kind...
Here is the picure 2 (https://home.comcast.net/~sanghun/pic/floor2.JPG)

BTW, my place is 7 yr old.

Any help???

Thanks,

Sang

That isn't a scratch, that is a character mark :)

The second picture, people pay extra money just for that look.

See if you can color match some wood filler.

Sometimes when you start trying to fix it, it sticks out worse then the scratch did.

That's what I figured... So, I guess live with that???

what about the first one? Can I just sand and finish it? with what?

Thanks,
