I have a striped sofa (beige-gold, green, blue and off white) and would like to purchase a loveseat but the sofa fabric is no longer available. Could I use a different color fabric for the loveseat? Should I stay with same texture? Thanks

of course you can use a different fabric! :)
just be sure it coordinates alright. it needs to be a smaller or larger pattern than the stripe, and it should either be a solid of one of the stripe colors, or a print containing some of those colors. i'd avoid a plaid, but a floral or print would be fine.
to unify the room, if you have pillows in the stripe fabric, place them on the loveseat, or if not, get pillows to match the loveseat & place them on the sofa.
it doesn't have to be the same texture. i think patterns & colors are more important.
