As much as I love these trees, I had to cut down some huge ones that were threatening my house and some neighbors. One Douglas Fir is on a small slope where I can't get a grinder. Is there a natural way to 'speed up' the decomposing process?

I have read of some products that claim they speed up the process. I think they are just snake oil.

A Farmer who Knows his Tractor will pull it up & smooth out the area for you. That's the way we have our stumps removed now. I tried the Snake oil, & ended up with massive Termite swarms that filled the air.

Our Home is Stone to the footer however every piece of wood we left on the ground from then on was infested with termites even the dog house. Natures has an order, & Termites, Mushrooms, Bugs, then Bactieria and it's gone is the order.

Sorry but I can't steer you to waste your money, that's the job of the Snake oil salesmen :D
