I just bought a new Sharp 27" TV, it will be in my basement and I can not afford cable presently. 7 comes in good, 4, not so good, 20, 50, 56, so so. And 2 not at all. I would just like to buy something that can get me up and running so i can have a half way decent TV to watch, but I dont understand anything about electronics, its a foreign language to me. Can anyone recommend a decent antenna, or give me specifics in what to look for and/or how much I should be spending to buy one. I would like to have a indoor antenna if possible, nothing can go on the roof where I live. Thank You very much for your help.

"nothing can go on the roof where I live"
Maybe NOT true!
If you own the house the federal government (FCC) says you can put up an outside antenna.

Okay - Indoor antenna:
You need a combination UHF/VHF antenna. Go to Radio Shack and tell them that's what you need. Buy one and try it. If it doesn't work satisfactory you can take it back and try another. Ch2 is VHF, above 13 are UHF.
