new to the forums and hoping to get some help...i just bought a small studio mini-loft in soho/ nyc and the previous owner, for some unknown reason, put a rather thick stucco covering, textured and made to look like slate tile, over the previously existing bare brick wall. i'm hoping to renovate/ remodel the space to make it more industrial/ warehouse-like so it feels more like it's original loft space intentions. i'm on the second story of the building, and the floors are hardwood, is it possible to sandblast the stucco off of the bare brick? or is there a better way with less noise and less fear of water damage to return it to it's original bare brick form? i'm hoping someone can help...
thx,
A

oh, and on a related note, the exposed brick in the kitchen has been painted over...any solvents or strippers work better than others for removing paint from a porous brick surface? looks like another LOOOONG weekend of work on this one.../sigh...
