I was given a floor model Mitsubishi a few months ago. At first it only made this buzzing sound when you first turned it on. Recently it starting making the noise constantly although the sound does seem to get louder and softer depending on what's happening with the picture. I removed the back from the television and it seems to be coming from the power supply box. If someone could explain in the simplest terms possible what I should do.... I would appreciate it.

If you turn up the volume enough so you do not hear the buzz I would think the problem is solved. Or apply earplugs and use closed captioning.

Sounds like a mits with a buzzing AC choke. On the chassis it's right where the cord hooks on. White box with 4 leads. Remove it, pry the white cover off, then fill the white cover with some white silicone RTV and push the coils back into the cover. Then wipe off the excess silicone and allow the RTV to set up. Reinstall back into the chassis, solder in and your buzz is gone. Good luck. If this sounds like to much work, take zigzags advice. Less time consuming and cheaper. Also replacing the tv is another good alturnative, you upgrade to newer technology.
