Heres my setup,

I have my main entertainment center on the first floor and have 4 BRs upstairs. Ocassionally, I would like to watch cable channels upstairs that require a cable box to receive. I was wondering if it is possible to split the coax signal right before the main TV and feed a video modulator. The modulator would then be connected to the cable leg upstairs. I would run this on RG6 cable. Is there any problems with signal quality with this type of setup? My cable modem also resides on the upstairs cable leg, would the modulator reak havoc with it? What brand of equipment would you recommend?

It would be a better idea to keep your modem
before the modulator and not after.

Thanks for the reply, I got that impression to after reading more on the subject. It seems the modem utilizes most of the spectrum. I figured out I need a demodulator (cable box modulates to channel 3) then a modulator and a filter (to remove digitial cable signal). I just need to do some more searching for some cost effective equipment.
