I took out my sliding shower doors off my fiberglass tub and went to a home store to buy new glass doors to install myself. I measured the fiberglass a few times and had a friend measure it a few times and it was 58 in. across. when I went to buy a new one the standard size was 55 1/2- 57 in. so they told me 58in. would be to big and now i have to special order. I know I have a standard fiberglass shower/tub. It is a few years old though. Could I find a standard shower door to fit my tub without special ordering it or could I shimmie something up to make standard doors fit my 58 in. opening.....
Please help............

water1,

It is true that the standard doors would overlap slightly but nothing that would be obtrusive to the eye. I see nothing wrong with a standard door as most tub/shower door finish openings are minimum 59". If you had tile, it may go to 58 1/4". Not really any difference than what you need, right?
