I have a wireless GE interlogix Simon system. We recently had a basement window replaced and the installers removed the wireless sensor from the window. After they finished with the install, I reattached the sensor and the "trigger" to the window frame and sash.

When I arm the alarm, the system says "basement window open" even though I have the trigger and sensor mounted very close together. What do I need to do?

thx,
Dave

You need to realign the magnet and the sensor - there are little arrows on the sides that have to be lined-up.

Good luck!

If you have the transmitter that's long and narrow with 2 batteries that you had to remove to get at the screws holding to whatever it was mounted to, then you have to press the square button that is visible when the outer case is removed to reset the sensor. They lock in tamper mode when the batteries are removed. As Safewatch mentioned, the magnet doesn't just line up anywhere, it has a place.
