I will be installing a 4.5ft. clawfoot tub on a tile floor.Do I need to wory about the weight of the tube breaking my tiles,only a small surface area with a lot a weight on the feet.Thanx for any response.

Interesting question. I have had these heavy tubs on the 1" octagon tiles with no problem but I don't know what size tile you have. Don't really think it will be a problem but thats an OPINION. Could try setting it on 4 tiles that are on top of the floor and see what happens. Good luck and post back.

I think tiles can support a tremendous amount of weight if they are installed properly. Try tapping (lightly) with a small hammer on the tile where your tub will go. Does it sound hollow or solid? If the tile is well supported by mud/thinset underneath it should have a nice solid sound and should hold the weight.
