I have a large eat-in kitchen with two ceiling lights, 1 on the kitchen side and 1 on the eat-in side. There are two double switch plates at different entrances with a switch for each, plus a third single switch at a third door that operates one of them.
I want to hang ceiling fans with lights instead of the simple lights (see my separate thread asking for low-profile fan recommendations).
Here's my thought: I'm thinking of wiring both fans to one switch in the duplex boxes, and both lights to the other. It's really one big room, so having them both turn off and on together makes sense from a design perspective. (The single switch at door #3 would operate the lights.) Does it make sense from a wiring standpoint?
[btw, I'm new here at DIY - brand-new homeowner! You'll probably be seeing a lot of me here]
