I'm having difficulty getting my drywall to match up flush with the tub/shower unit. I'm thinking about using something on the nailing flange of the tub to get it flush with the drywall...any ideas? Will joint compound stick to fiberglass or should I just go crazy with caulk?

You are attempting to join products with dissimilar expansion and contraction properties, are you sure.

Guess my question is more like "What will stick well to a fiberglass tub/shower?" more than joining drywall and fiberglass.

There are "T" moldings that you can caulk using an elastometric caulking, such as tub-n-tile.
