I have a few questions regarding duct work in a walkout basement that I want to finish by boxing in the duct work with drywall. We have both a furnace and air-conditioning that use the duct work.
What is the best, long-lasting method for sealing holes / leaks in the duct work?
There seems to be a lot of noise that travels between the first floor and the basement via the vents in the floor on the first floor. Is there any way to sound proof this?
What is the best way to get rid of the noise made by the duct work that can be heard in the basement when someone is walking on the first floor (sometimes a popping noise and other times just squeaking from the ducts)?
Thanks
