I am in need of some dumbwaiter plans. How do we get started? I do not have the $3-5000. to just order and install one. We would like to make our own. Help!!!

I have made one of these for the company I used to work for.
I made it out of 3/4 inch plywood. We used wood guide as a track. For residencial you will need rollers to keep it quiet.
You will need to wire some safely switches into this control. Much like a door opener so nobody gets squished. Limit switches or photo-eye at top and bottom. Up/Down buttons. Some sort of drive device is needed and keeping it quiet will be an issue.
The drive depends on what and how much you are going to lift. Ours was a cable drive.
