I added the wireless module on my NX-8, I programmed the module # to 35, I cant figure out how to program the zones for the module and motion detectors in ?? I guess if the NX8 is 8 zones then the module Zones should be 9-16 ?? Please help,

Thanks, BD

I like the NX panel series, but I have to admit that their wireless instructions are maddeningly obtuse and somewhat disjointed in layout.

Start by going to program. Instead of 0# for panel program, you go to 35# to access the wireless module. Go ahead and enter 910# to default the module (especially if you got it from ebay or the like).

Next, go to 194# and enter a 1. This changes the starting zone of the wireless module to 9 so that there is no overlap of the hardwire zones.

Enter [0] [#] to enter the sensor learning location. The
Ready LED should turn on and the Armed LED should turn off.

Enter [XXX] , where [XXX] is a zone number (1
through 192) and is the entry key.
In your case, 9. Trip the motion by popping the back off. The panel should ding-dong learning in the sensor.

Exit program mode the usual way. That should do the trick. Lather, rinse and repeat for more sensors.

I'm assuming you have either a LCD keypad or a 16+ LED keypad. The system will still work without either, you just won't see the higher zones.

Thanks, I'll try that tonight. The directions make it look difficult. Your directions make it look much easier.

I think I have the motion detector installed correctly. But When I arm the alarm it doesnt go off when I walk around. I'm not really sure how to get it programmed as a zone correctly. Also I just want the motion detector I just installed and 1 hardwired Zone programmed for my house. Believe it or not the hole house is on 1 Zone. The guy looped every door and window. I will seperate with a few wireless transmitters later but just want to get this thing going to protect the house at night time. The damn directions make it so difficult, it has so many options I cant figure out what ones need to be programmed, I'd really like to just reset it and reprogram to make sure its done right.

Believe me, the first time one of these was tossed into my lap (almost literally), I spent the better part of an hour and a half pecking at the keypad and swearing. I keep fighting the urge the find out if Interlogix needs to hire a technical manual writer.

Ok once you have the motion learned in, you have to go back into panel programming and enable that zone as an interior (or interior autobypass) zone.

One quirk of wireless motions is that they do not activate repeatedly unless you kick them into walktest mode by taking them off the back and putting them back on. They have a timeout function so that the battery is not run down when there is a lot of activity in the room. I forget how long the delay is, but it is a couple of minutes, maybe as much as 5.

If you have everything set properly, and arm the system and enter the field of view, bingo! But the tell tale won't light very often in an occupied space.

If you take it down, do you get a zone tamper for that zone?

Did he loop the openings point to point, or are the openings homerun to the panel location?
