Hello,

I am a newbie here and am glad I found this site. I just purchased a small condo in Chevy Chase, MD and am set to do some/most of the renovation myself. Before I gte underway I have a few questions in which I would love some guidance.

1. This condo is just 400sqft, I want to go with a floor type of Marble or Hardwood, list pros and cons to both please :)

2. I took off a parquet flooring thing last night and noticed that it has some black glue which held it in place, the building is about 25 or so years old, should I be worried about asbestos? If yes then do I just wear a mask over my face?

OK that is all for now, thanks again for your knowledge and help.

Keep the black stuff damp, by mopping every 5-10 minutes as you scrape. This keeps dust from happening. So if it is actually asbestos laced cutback adhesive, you can contain the dust.

Yes by all means, use a dust mask!
