I've got a DSC 1500 system that has a bad sector 4, which always shows open. (light on) I've manually bypassed with a wire from the com to Z4, but it's still open, so a bad circuit board or lead. Anyway, can anyone tell me how to program to permanently bypass that sector? Thanks!!

If you have access to installer programming, you can just delete the zone in field 11 (zone descriptions.)

If you do not have access to installer programming, you can try hardware defaulting the panel and then accessing programming.

If you need a manual for the system, see http://manuals.safewatchservice.com

Good luck!

Thanks Brandon. I have the Installation manual, but what option would I pick in field 11? (nothing obvious as deleting the zone) Thx!

Actually, the 1500 series doesn't have the option of simply deleting the zone. Are your zones set up for needing the resistors? (section 12 light #5 off). If so, simply bridging the zone with a wire won't work, you have to use a 1k resistor.

Have you tested the continuity of the zone 4 loop with a meter or continuity test light?

Thanks muchly. It is set up for resistors, and even bought a new 1k resistor to short over and still the same. I've tested the continuity and sure enough zone 4's toast! Thanks
