I need to cut a 4" hole through a brick facade to ventilate a basement bathroom. How do I do that? I can drill holes all day, or use a special tool of some sort....

Best tool is a rotary hammer (aka hammer drill) which uses a masonry bit and percussive power to drill thru masonry.
