The flames on our fireplace are very low, and glow a blue colour. I asked the dealer why this was happening and he said probably there wasn't enough air getting to the fireplace. Can anyone tell me where that adjustment is?

Hello: Tumback

Low burner flames are not directly attributated to the air flow into the burner tube. The air alters the color from blue to yellow. Blue indicates plenty of air while yellow not enough.

Some fireplace appliances are not designed to have some yellow flames, while gas logs can have some. Yellow flames create soot, odors and carbon monoxides from incomplete combustion of the gas.

The air shutter adjustment is at the end of the burner tube. It has a tiny screw securing it in place. Loosen the screw and rotate the shutter opened or closed while noting the changes in the flames characteristics.

Some models with the new style burners are already preset at the factory and have no adjustments. If the gas volume and pressure supplied is correct, the appliance should operate correctly and as designed.
