I intalled a tile kitchen floor 10 years ago and would like to change the tile. I installed the tile over wonderboard which is over plywood. While trying to take up the tile, the wonderboard is coming up in chunks. I was hoping not to have to re-install the wonderoard. I now undertand that I will have to remove the wonderboard. Is there any suggestions on how to remove the wonderboard without tearing up the plywood underneath? Thank you for your suggestions, Chums1.

Did you use thinset under the hardi board? If not then get a pry bar and get between the hardi and the subfloor and pry it up tile and all.If there is thinset under the hardi well, then my prayers are with you ,cause this will be the you're worst nightmare,in the sense of blood ,sweat ,and a few tears it will tear the subfloor up a little should'nt be too bad though, get the subfloor as flat as possible scraping what thinset you can off the floor
