I am wondering how a person would transfer photos to fabric. I want to make a quilt for my best friend using pictures of her dog, for christmas...
Does anyone have instructions how to do this? Does it wash out in the washer? and how can I prevent that?
Thank you for any information or help you can provide.
Take care,
katt.

I made a quilt for my cousin's wedding using photos of him and his wife.
I found photo transfer paper at a craft store, then took the photos and paper to a copy store. You might also be able to get the transfer paper at an office supply place.
Then all you do is iron the transfers onto fabric.
Unless you don't care if the photos are backwards, make sure the copier is set to "mirror image"!
I don't know about washability.

I was at a local store called Michael's(mike-l's) around christmas. I saw something for transfering photos to fabric that looks AWSOME! I don't remember what it is called or even how it works but.... it was a substance you can put on anything and it copys it. Much like how silly putty copies a newspaper. Unlike iron-on transfers I've seen, this stuff stretches. There for would be much more durable and eliminate cracking. The price was reasonable also. Sorry I can't remember the spacifics but I remember it was in the aisle where you'd find appliques and stuff.
