Well, so much for the new capacitor. I wrote last week about a problem with my Whirlpool window AC. It quit altogether and I discovered a burned-out lead wire into the capacitor. First I replaced the wire but all I got was a unit that barely ran on fan-only, and not at all on anything else. So I decided the problem was the capacitor.
Now I have replaced the capacitor but it changed nothing. Unit still barely runs on fan, nothing otherwise. If anyone has additional ideas, I would love to hear them. The unit is only two years old and I sense the problem is not major, but I'm stumped.

I suggest that you first check the voltage at the outlet the unit plugs into. Beyond that, you're going to need the schematic for the unit ad a volt-ohm meter to work your way the wiring scheme to locate the problem. It could be the selector switch is fried internally. The wiring schematic should be somewhere on the unit.
