I wanted some advice on how to tell if your foundation was sound. I am thinking of selling in 5 years and want to know if my foundation would hold up to inspection. What if it does not? What options do I have then?I do have cracks in a concrete brick wall and I have had a sump pump put in. We have had a very wet 2 years in our area.

If you are concerned about its passing inspection in 5 years, it may be worthwhile to have it inspected now. Some cracking over a long time is usually the result of settling. A concrete block wall would be best inspected by a mason or an engineer. Few others are qualified to do so.
