Hi there! Someone gave us a whole bunch of ceramic tiles. I would like to put some on my kitchen walls. The problem is the walls are paneling. You know the typical brown paneling. I checked many pages of threads here and did not find any information regarding paneling. Mainly interested in tiling the wall behind the stove. What would the procedure be to do this? Thank You for your time in this matter. I am clueless as I have never layed tile.

You will need to get the paneling off and put a more suitable substrate there for the tile, like drywall cause the paneling is too flimsy and will not hold the tile very well. The movement of the paneling will cause the grout to crack and the tile to fall off the wall
