Air Conditioning - Help! Water Leaking at PVC Connection on Inside A./CUnit

We have a trane heat pump. The white pvc pipe that comes from outside where the water drips, it's leaking where it's connected to the unit inside, like it's coming from where it's screwed on to the main inside unit.

What does this mean? It doesn't seem loose. Is it clogged? If so, can we unclogged it ourself, and how?

Take a shop vac and blow into the pipe and suck on the pipe out side there. If it dont work cut the pipe by the unit and clean it there. You can put the pipe back with just a coupling. Pull the cover off inside and see if you can suck up the yuck from inside the drain pan there. Some 50/50 water and clorox inside on the coil will help matters after you get it clean. Your air filter clean new every 30 to 90 days????

Keeping my fingers crossed that was the problem. Did as you instructed, and it hasn't leaked since, it's been 24 hours now.

Where is the coil you talked about here? On the inside unit???

Another question: For the past few weeks prior, I smelled a musty smell in the rooms coming from A/C. Is the clog what caused that??

The coil Ed's referring to is indeed in the indoor unit where the copper lines enter in. The white pvc enters just at the bottom of the coil. The musty smell could have been from the clogged drain. Get the coil cleaned up and see how it goes.

Thanks, we'll try that and report back.

Water is no longer leaking from the PVC pipe, so obviously blowling it out and replacing fixed that problem.
