either the filter or coil is dirty or it is low on refrigerant . pull it out of the window and clean it good first

Could be a dirty coil, filter, or low on refrigerant.

Are you saying that no matter where you set the theromstat setting it just keeps blowing out cold air? Cracking and popping always scares me when it's coming from an electrical appliance. You may have some shorted switches in there. Did you let it dry out real good before turning it back on.

:) Hi,Mattison only when i have it on hi and on the 9 setting does it make the noise.and you can hear the ice fall,I turn it down on lo and a lower setting and no noise came from it last nite...so i don't have a clue what causing this unless i trying to set it to hi . could that be possible? i like my rooms very cold.
