I've got the tiling portion of the job done, but have not yet grouted. There is some (OK, a lot) of thinset on the tops of the tiles, around the edges. What is the best way to remove this?

Next time you tile keep a bucket of water and a sponge with you.The thinset is easier to get off the tile when wet.

Get a utilty knife and rake it through the joints to get the thinset out from the grout joints and get a 5 in 1 or something similar and to get thinset off the tile.Be careful though cause sometimes this will leave a black mark called a metal mark that will not come off,so rub lightly and use a sponge and water to get the rest

what about the thinset in between the tiles that remains here and there? Cut it out with a dremel and bit? I tried scraping but it is stuck tight.
