There is an oak tree in a house I am about to buy quite close to the deck. The inspector recommended to cut it because it will grow to be huge in the future.

I want to do it myself since the tree is not very big. Around 10 yrs. It is not small either. About 25 ft.

Does anyone have any experience in cutting down a tree. There is lots of place at the back for the tree to fall down on the grass.

Any ideas are welcome. How does one dispose of the tree?

I've cut a few over the past 18 yrs here in the woods.
One 'biggiei' near the house though, I left for a professional.

With your size tree, you could tie it off 2/3 of the way up to insure a safe fall away from the house.

Disposing is usually easy: cut in 18 or 20 inch lengths, stack by roadside, add sign reading "FREE OAK". It WILL disappear.

Thanks for the information. I wast thinking of trimming whatever I can before using the rope to tie it.
