I would like to replace a tile entrance (5 feet X 4 feet) with granite, and a brick hearth with matching granite. Is is better to use one large piece or 12 X 12 tiles? Both are over a concrete floor. What is the best way to adhere them to the floor? Thanks

O the surround and the hearth if the brick is flat then either would do well on the fire place. If the brick is offset then you will have to make everything uniform to be able to set the granite properly.

In the entry make sure there are no cracks in the concrete and use a membrane to allow for movement in the concrete so the granite won't crack. You want to use the 12x 12 tile in the entry as the slab is not practical for that type of installation
