Hi, can anyone help me. I have an oil burner that when turned on is continually for the first 10 or 15 mins clicking on and off. The flame ignites then goes out and the spark reignites goes for about 2 seconds, off again and so forth. Does anyone know what could be wrong. I can only think that the fuel maybe not getting through although I have checked the filter and bleeded out any air. Any advice most welcome. Tom.

You dont say: Did you put a new nozzle in and reset the electrodes??? Didnt move the nozzle in or back in the air tube. Reset the air on the burner INFO INFO helps

The description you gave is not quite detailed enough for me to know if the burner is continuing to run and the flame is going on and off or if the burner motor itself is going on and off. If you could clarify this and give the make of the oil burner, not the whole furnace or boiler. Once you give that info, we can proceed to a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting.

I agree that more details are required , have you checked any water trapping devices as water in the fuel causes that hiccuping until its pulled through and blown out , remember oil floats on the water and if there is a skim in the bottom of the tank a little will come through on initial fire up each time.
Good luck.
