Hi ,
I have a Kenmore Elite 27" Electric Dryer that's 2 years old. Model 110 62992101 with moisture sensor
About a month ago, all of a sudden, I noticed the it wasn't running. In fact the light inside the dryer wasn't on at all. I unplugged the dryer, I think moved it a little, and then it worked. About a week or so, same thing, it wouldn't work and the light wasn't on. I think I got it run one more time by moving it around or to a different position.
Now it doesn't run at all. The dryer light won't even come on.
I checked the 220V outlet, it's fine. I am using three wires, and I opened the back plate on the dryer, and the wires are certainly firmly connnected to the dryer.
Any ideas? - Sad this sort of thing happnes to a relatively new dryer.

I would check the plug-in first. If you have a bad connection there that would explain why moving it makes it work. Just remember to shut off the power to the plug-in before you open it up. Also you could have a bad cord. Check for discolored , melted, or burnt areas. Doc E

Hi,
The cord looks brand new where it attaches inside the back of the dryer Click Here (http://www.damacoc.org/als_stuff/dryer/dryer1.jpg)
The outlet tests fine. Click Here for Picture (http://www.damacoc.org/als_stuff/dryer/dryer2.jpg) - I did not take it apart.
Is there any other reason it would appear the dryer isn't getting power ?
Thanks

Hi,
OK I took the outlet off, one of the wire was loose. I can't believe how pitiful the design is. The screw is stripped out now I have to get a whole new outlet.
I wish I could electricute the stupid, ***** that designed this thing
I'll pick another outlet and let you know how it goes.
Thanks So Much for your help
