I am planning on installing a toilet/sink in the basement. I’ve read about the Saniflo, a macerating toilet, and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this product. It seems that the only other option is to dig up the basement floor.

They are bought, used, then eventually disconnected due to problems.
The area where the effluent and waste matter goes is in a square, flat container. What happens is the solids build up to the point where the pump cannot fully remove all waste, which leads to problems.
No tampons, pantiliners, disposable wipes, or tampon applicators in this application. And I would advise against heavy toilet paper users.
