Hi! We have a GE Profile Performance dishwasher (model GSD5620D00BB). Today I tried to start a load. I noticed, however, that the detergent cup dispenser cover would not latch. Right next to the dispenser is raised lettering that says "Note: Cycle must complete before cover will latch." I believe the dishwasher cycles completed last night when those dishes washed. I pushed the "normal" wash and "start" buttons. The light indicators for "sensing" and "washing" lit up (as usual), but then I heard a whining noise and the light indicator for "drying" lit up and started blinking. The machine was beeping as the light blinked. The whining noise sounded like the machine was trying to get the cycle started --- I've heard that before, but this time it lasted longer.

Is the beeping an indication of what's wrong? What should we do now? I can't find the owner's manual and can't find anything about this problem on the Internet. Thanks for your help!
