I replaced the original copper tubing under the sink from the supply to the cold water faucet, in order to install an automatic ice maker in my fridg.
I used flexible stainless steel fittings in place of the copper tubing and connected it to a copper T fitting that provided a connection to plastic tubing that went off to the fridg. In a short time the water smelled really strong of rotten eggs.( Only from this one faucet )
I replaced this with the original copper tubing and the smell went away.
Is there some reaction going on between the stainless, copper and my well water ? (What is the material used inside the flexible stainless steel fittings ? ) Also I have filtered well water that has a slight iron content.
I used this system because I didn't like the idea of a saddle clamp before the shutoff. And I really have to use plastic tubing to the fridg, as there is no access for copper tubing.

Your situation might be solely related to what shot through the aerator and then the smell originated from the debris inside of that aerator.

Remove the aerator and run the faucet for a solid 10 minutes, install a brand new aerator or thoroughly clean the old one in vinegar.
