On the second floor of a rented home I have an acrylic tub that squeaks with every step. The tub has a tile surround. Is there a fix for this problem? I thought of using a spray foam under the tub as sound proofing, but am concerned that if I use too much the foam will lift the tub as it expands. Thanks for any suggestions/solutions!

Its probably not the tub its self but the floor boards under it.No amount of foam under the tub will stop the squeaking. It would also be rather expensive to fill the underside of a tub. Since you are RENTING I would talk to the landlord and ask him about it.I would not mess with anything I did not own(this causes all kinds of sticky problems).
