Hello,
I have a KitchenAid model KUDI01TJ dishwasher. Over the past couple months, the cleaning performance has really dropped. It had prblems with leaving a white film on the dishes and I was able to get that under control by using some reccomended acid agents to clear it up like Lime Away. The dishes just don't come out clean anymore. The unit runs all cycles and seems to be doing the job, but grimy dishes come out. I have to rewash about 50% of the dishes and the ones I keep are not really good and clean either. We always rinse the dishes before we put them in also. The unit drains fine and I dont see any food accumulating in the drain area. Any ideas what to check? The pump motor was replaced under warrenty about three months ago.
Thanks.

It kinda sounds like you have a low water fill problem or maybe a water temperature problem. The water should be atleast 120 to 130 degrees F to start with. Gel soaps can cause a lot of problems with scuming and leaving a white residue. Mostly when there is not enough water in the DW. After it fills there should be water almost up to the heating element. Also look for the water draining away by itself. I've seen that several times when the drain is lower than the DW. Hope this helps. Doc E

Thanks. I will check the water level. I did check the temperature and that is good. Strange though. The thing seems to run fine but just is not getting the dishes very clean, especially the silverware. This is not a low end unit either. This is a pretty good Kitchenaid with the stainless inside for high heat washing.
