Hi.
I live in North UK :o
We have an outside toile, not used for many years, and I want to rip it out and use the (small) room for something else (a kiln). :D
I know I need to cut off the water, remove piping, remove the (old fashioned, cast iron) cystern, and toilet bowl. I guess that leaves a hole under the toilet, though, attached to the foul water drain.
Now, I'm sure I've seen this kind of thing finished off with a neat circle of cement/mortar in the floor. Do I just pack below it and fill it in, or what?

Any help gratefully received.

You should be able to pack the line with rags or anything that will not sink when the weight of cement is applied, then fill with cement.I would recommend "hydraulic cement" as it will swell and give you a better seal.
Also as you are in the UK and I am not sure what the codes for this type of procedure are I would check with your local plumbing code office to be sure this is a DIY'er project or if permits are needed. They can also direct you to the proper procedure for your area.

Good Luck and Post Back
