Hot water coming out of every faucet in
the house is a rust color, any suggestions
on possible fixes.

See this one time and the water heater was about to start leaking, replace the water heater.

You didn't mention the water heaters age. Also if the house has steel pipes or copperlines. Both are very important tibits of information.

You can try flushing the tank. You can check the archives in this forum for the step by step instructions if needed.

Basically, all you need to do is connect a common garden hose to the flush spigot, put the other hose end in the street and open the faucet. Let the hot water flow out until it runs clear and then turn off the flush valve, remove the hose.

Clean out the faucet screens at the sinks, etc. and see if this helps. If so, repeat as needed. If not, then replace the tank.
